BPI group’s Executive Employment Trends Report offers insights and visibility into the current executive job market. And while in Q2, the full economic impact of COVID-19 had yet to appear in the executive job market trends that we track, we were able to provide key takeaways despite the ever-changing market.
A few key trends from this report include:
- Networking continues to be the primary source of job opportunities, with a 12% increase over the same period in 2019.
- More and more executives are taking new organizational roles rather than starting a business or retiring.
- We are starting to see positive signs in pipelines as talent acquisition teams are almost back to their pre-COVID pace of talent review, and executive roles previously on hold now opening up. We are also seeing search-firm activity increase.
- Hiring managers are still not 100% comfortable making decisions based on virtual interviewing.
The Executive Employment Trends Report Q2 2020 also includes analysis of the average length of the executive job search, as well as how the job search is impacted by an executive’s base salary level, education level, and age.
