BPI group’s Executive Employment Trends Report historically has offered visibility into the current executive job market. This report contains Q1 2020 numbers and does not reflect the dramatic impact that the COVID-19 outbreak has had on our economy and on the job market since the end of Q1.
Key trends from this report include:
- Faster landing times, compared with Q1 of 2019, for all age groups. Considering the impact of COVID-19 on the economy, we expect a general slowdown in job landings because of virtual interviewing, affects of social distancing, and costs to organizations.
- Eighty-seven percent of our executive clients chose to seek a new job within an organization, a 12% increase over last year.
- Networking claimed the top spot for the source of executives finding new roles (an 11% increase) while Internet-based landings fell significantly.
The Executive Employment Trends Report Q1 2020 also includes analysis of the average length of the executive job search, as well as how the job search is impacted by an executive’s base salary level, education level, and age.
